Just watched Amazing Grace. This is the movie that came out this year about William Wilberforce and his efforts to abolish slavery in Great Britian in the late 18th century. A well made movie, superbly acted, and enjoyable all-around. Also, it’s a movie that you can watch with your children. After watching this movie I will finally get around to reading the book I purchase about this great man.
My favorite lines the movie…
Butler: “Found God have you?”
Wilburforce: “…It seems He found me…do you have any idea how inconvenient that is?”
Also…
“Two things I know. That I am a great sinner, and Jesus Christ is a great Saviour.”
Amen.
That seems to be how it is. It’s an inconvenient thing to believe in God in a post-modern world that says He’s dead.
