Must Be Nice to Work for Knox County

If the HR department of Knox County calls about that job for which you applied… BY ALL MEANS TAKE THE CALL!!!

From WBIR.com:

“Under the county’s policy, Finch will see about $14,000 in addition to her regular salary included in her final paycheck. That amount covers 238 accrued hours of leave, or almost six weeks of work.

Former Finance Director John Werner took home $22,797.47.”

And the best part of the story:

The mayor said he doesn’t plan to fill Finch’s six-figure salary position because it’s a tight budget year.”

In private business when someone quits and you don’t fill the position, it probably wasn’t needed in the first place (or call it inefficiency).  In government when someone resigns, lawyers up, and you don’t fill the position…it’s called…uh…you tell me.

So let me get this straight…since she resigned, her six figure job was so unimportant that it doesn’t need to be filled in a “tight budget year”…

but if she had not resigned…business government as usual.
