Grudem: Why Do Poor Nations Remain Poor?

Between Two Worlds has posted (with permission) Dr. Wayne Grudem’s handout on Why Do Poor Nations Remain Poor? An extremely interesting read and the audio as well.

Christian or not, the handout is a good education on the devastating consequences of certain types of governments.

Many years ago I heard Dr. J. Vernon McGee comment on why some areas (countries) remain poor.

Dr. McGee observed that in regions of the world where Chrisianity has flourished; i.e. where the church has for the most part grown numerically if not spiritually, than there seems to have been a corresponding increase in the wealth of that region or country.

It’s an interesting supposition. One has only to look at India, China, Africa, Russia, and Haiti; i.e. countries where Christianity is not the dominant religion to see persistent generational poverty.

There are of course anomalies in this illustration, but the idea seems to have some merit. What do you think?
