My brother had the nerve to abandon his immediate family and move to Tampa, FL many years ago. Below is a message I received from him today…
[cue visa commercial]
air condition electric bill for DEC…………………….$
misquote protection for the kids………………… $ 4.25
property taxes…………………….
gas per gallon……………………
tomorrow’s high……………………..
This is why we live in fl.
My response…
Big deal. Global Warming took the year off so you didn’t have a dozen hurricanes. Write me an e-mail when that happens (again).
Maybe it will read something like this…
[cue hurricane warning systen]
scarce plywood…………………….$50 per sheet
drilling holes into our concrete house to attach said plywood…..a day off work and potential areas for water intrusion into our house $ spent vacation day
Purchase of a generator……$ 800
Summer heat that last for nine months……$ 300 per month for air conditioning
Real Estate Bubble Burst and not able to sell your concrete house with holes and water damage…..priceless
I’ll take KTOWN anyday.

that is an awesome response Shawn!
Right before I sent that, I honestly thought of your response that would follow. I then had a flashback of Mrs. Feathers having me read a famous William Shakespeare line from Macbeth, “from the prickling of my thumb something wicked this way comes”.
I agree.
