Trump is in a bit of hot water with his SoHo project. Construction safety violations, injuries, and now a death will definitely slow this project.
But no worries, as “creative” as Trump and his partners are, I am sure the can weasel figure their way out of this mess.
Here’s an example of why some people hate real estate developers:
“Scheduled to open in spring 2009, it is being marketed as a condo hotel. Buyers of the units will be permitted to stay in them for no more than 120 days in a year; the rooms will be rented to hotel guests the rest of the time. The arrangement was negotiated with city officials because new apartment buildings are prohibited by the area’s zoning, but hotels are allowed.”
Of course, this type of ‘deal’ would not be possible without the help of city officials.
